Ray-Ban Titanium – The Premium Product Story

Lighter, Bolder, Stronger

For more than 80 years Ray-Ban has represented the pinnacle of understated sunglass style. It remains the brand that all other brands want to be. Since its establishment in New York State in 1936, Ray-Ban has made its name, fame, and fortune through the creation of uber-desirable and ultra-practical (that means tough) frames and lenses.

Think of your favourite movie star or favourite singer and for sure they’ve all been seen sporting a pair or two over the years. Now Ray-Ban have upped their game in the luxury stakes with the introduction of The Titanium Collection.

Made in Japan

Long-time pioneers in the eyewear industry, Ray-Ban have made a significant cultural shift with the creation of the new capsule collection. In the 1980s, Japan began tooling up and experimenting with exotic materials in fine and light engineering. During this period, it became the world-leader in the manufacture of specialized eyewear and frames.

It was to Fukui Megane Co. Ltd, in the town of Sabae, that Ray-Ban turned in search of a partner to match its own pursuit of excellence for the introduction of titanium frames. Today merging their unique and finely-honed skills with Ray-Ban’s creative forces, they work side-by-side in the development of a limited range of iconic products.

Why titanium?

Titanium is a lightweight, high-strength, low-corrosion structural metal used in alloy form for parts in high-speed aircraft and space rockets and satellites. It is, for many in the world of lightweight and fine engineering, the Holy Grail.

The superior quality Japanese titanium used in the Ray-Ban Titanium Collection embodies luxury itself too. One of the world’s finest metals, pure titanium is nickel-free and hypoallergenic, making it suitable for even the most sensitive skins.

Exceptionally light and flexible, titanium weighs 45% less than steel but is just as strong. The result? All-day comfort that is designed to last a lifetime.

Titanium is extremely resistant to corrosion and oxidation, ensuring a durable, luxury finish that is easy to maintain. Precision-crafted to the highest standards and by only a few highly-trained specialists, the production of titanium eyewear is a meticulous process.

The Titanium Collection is built around only the most recognizable icons of the brand:  Aviator, Round, and Caravan. Lighter, stronger and clearer than ever, the distinctive style of the Ray-Ban Aviator, Ray-Ban Caravan and Ray-Ban Round are reborn in ultra-light Made in Japan titanium with meticulously crafted, filigree engraving plus premium anti-reflective lens options for an ultra-quality finish and superior vision comfort.
